  7. World heavyweight champion 1952-56. He retired after 49 professional fights, the only heavyweight champion to retire undefeated. Born in Brockton, Massachussetts, he was known as the "Brockton Blockbuster". He knocked out 43 of his 49 opponents. Marciano was killed in a plane crash.
